Manoa is one of the original named communities within present-day Havertown, predating the ‘Havertown’ postal designation that the U.S. Post Office introduced on January 1, 1946. The neighborhood grew substantially through the large brick house tract developments of the mid-20th century, producing the mix of brick colonials, Cape Cods, and twin homes — most built between the late 1920s and 1960s — that define its streetscape today.
